Worship services with dramatic monologues based on the Gospels

Looking for ways to bring the story of Good Friday to life during worship?

Listen as people from the Gospels tell of their encounters with Jesus Christ. Some of the voices are well known, others lesser known. But collectively they testify of the wondrous love of the risen Saviour.

Voices for Good Friday is perfect for congregations, worship teams, drama ministries, and individuals seeking a fresh perspective of the gospel story and a creative way to tell the story.

These interpretive, dramatic narratives can be used in a variety of formats – reader’s theatre, stage performance, sermon helps, and in worship settings. The narratives are arranged according to the lectionary year within three ready-made Good Friday/Tenebrae worship services, complete with suggested hymns and Scripture readings.

There are three to four narratives from each of the Gospels. Each narrative is 7 to 10 minutes long when performed. The narratives allow for easy stage setup and prep time; require few rehearsals; and call for only a small cast of readers and/or actors. Director’s notes are provided.

Not only will these voices bring worship leaders and worshippers more intimately into the story of Good Friday, but they will set the stage for the joy to come on Easter Sunday.
